Jaguar's new GT race car will be formally introduced to the European public tomorrow at the 2010 Autosport International in Birmingham, England. The JaguarRSR XKR GT was jointly developed in Coventry with engineers from Jaguar and the RSR team.
The car uses Jaguar's AJ133 5.0-liter V8 engine generating roughly 550 horsepower. Top speed on the car is listed at 180 mph. Weight on the car is kept to 1,245kg, partially due to the XKR's aluminum monocoque. The driver keeps the engine under control with a six-speed transmission and Hewland CST transverse sequential transaxle. 18-inch three-piece BBS wheels cover Brembo six-piston front, four-piston rear calipers. 380mm discs were installed up front, with 350mm discs in back. The wheels are wrapped in Yokohama slicks.
Braselton, Georgia, in the US, played host to the JaguarRSR XKR GT's race debut last year. The car raced there during the Petit Le Mans, as well as in a few other cities on the 2009 American Le Mans Series calendar. It will be used for the entirety of the ALMS 2010 season.
